4 Websites For Knowledge, Information And Reference

Google like search engines are great in this area to help us but not always. If we know these sources then directly searching there make sense.
(1) Wikipedia.org

Wikipedia is world’s largest free encyclopedia launched by
Jimmy Wales in 2001. It is free for all, anyone can use its content free of cost under Creative Common (CC) License and anyone can edit its information, if something is missing anyone can add. Any query you search on Google, Google first try to find it on Wikipedia. Everyday I visit Wikipedia three to five times for reference or knowledge. Today Wikipedia passed 3 million articles in English. It is in many language and you can find on it almost any reference.
Reading about Wikipedia on Wikipedia is great fun.

Howstuffworks.com is another great website not similar to Wikipedia, but a rich resource for reading and learning terms and methods in easy way with the help of pictures, diagrams and videos. It was launched in 1998 by Marshall Brain. When I was new to web world my friends suggested me to visit Howstuffworks.
You can find about many kind of stuffs how they work like virus, computer, harddrive or Google like search engines, you can find there how they work.

eHow is also a knowledge resource, its focus is on “How to do just about anything or everything. Simple manners or guides to help you about anything to do. ehow was launched in 1999. You can create account in this website and join community and you also can create eHow pages in your areas of expertiese.. eHow provides step by step videos, simply this website is full of how tos.
(4) About.com

About is another rich resource of knowledge, information and advice, it is little like wikipedia also, you can find there about anything as like about India or money making.
